Wednesday, January 12th 5:30-7PM The Book Doctors, aka David Henry Sterry, and ex-agent/current wife Arielle Eckstut, authors of the Workman book The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published, will making a house call in New Orleans, and they want YOU to PITCH your BOOK at their Pitchapalooza. It’s like American Idol for books, only without the Simon. Writers get one minute to pitch their book ideas to a once-in-a-lifetime All-Star cast of publishing experts. Arielle has been a literary agent for 18 years, and David is the best-selling author of 13 books, the last of which appeared on the cover of the Sunday New York Times Book Review. They’ve helped dozens and dozens of talented amateurs become professionally published authors. They’ve appeared on NPR many times, and taught publishing at Stanford University. Writers get one minute to pitch their book ideas to a once-in-a-lifetime, all-star cast of publishing experts, including Arielle Eckstut & David Henry Sterry, co-founders of The Book Doctors and co-authors of The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published; Kathleen Nettleton of prestigious Pelican Publishing; and Susan Larson, author, ex-book editor of The New Orleans Times-Picayune who now hosts The Reading Life on WWNO-FM, is vice president for programming of the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival, a member of the National Book Critics Circle.  Arielle has been a literary agent at the Levine Greenberg Literary Agency for 18 years, and David is the best-selling author of 13 books, the last of which appeared on the cover of the Sunday New York Times Book Review.  They’ve helped dozens and dozens of talented amateurs become professionally published authors.  They’ve appeared everywhere from NPR to The New York times and taught at Stanford University.  Winner gets an introduction to an agent appropriate for their book.
