Saturday, May 12th 11-12:30PM Acadiana is composed of 22 parishes in southwest Louisiana. This tribute to the bountiful ecosystem and fond traditions of Creoles and Cajuns is beautifully illustrated and presents a foundation for appreciating the singular heritage of this region. "Goodnight Acadiana not only captured my attention the first time I opened it, it also took me away with the littlest effort because it is written about us and where we come from. My kids loved the book as well! The pictures compliment the story step-by-step, capturing our Cajun Culture to the fullest through vivid design and majestic storytelling! Having been to many places described in the book and having spent time in Acadiana truly allowed my children to relate. It really gave me a warm feeling to see them so engaged. We absolutely loved it!!!" --Derek Lesley C. Costner grew up in New Orleans but spent holidays and special occasions with family in Acadiana, where a cochon de lait (whole roasted suckling pig) was the order of the day. Though not a writer by training, her goal is to share the warmth and traditions of the region with those who know it well and those who may be surprised by the depth of its history. Leslie Crawford Costner is discussing and signing her book, Goodnight Acadiana. If you are unable to attend, you must call the book shop to order signed books.
