Acadiana
is composed of 22 parishes in southwest Louisiana. This tribute to
the bountiful ecosystem and fond traditions of Creoles and Cajuns is
beautifully illustrated and presents a foundation for appreciating
the singular heritage of this region.
"Goodnight
Acadiana not only captured my attention the first time I opened it,
it also took me away with the littlest effort because it is written
about us and where we come from. My kids loved the book as well! The
pictures compliment the story step-by-step, capturing our Cajun
Culture to the fullest through vivid design and majestic
storytelling! Having been to many places described in the book and
having spent time in Acadiana truly allowed my children to relate. It
really gave me a warm feeling to see them so engaged. We absolutely
loved it!!!" --Derek
Lesley
C. Costner grew up in New Orleans but spent holidays and special
occasions with family in Acadiana, where a cochon de lait (whole
roasted suckling pig) was the order of the day. Though not a writer
by training, her goal is to share the warmth and traditions of the
region with those who know it well and those who may be surprised by
the depth of its history.
Leslie Crawford Costner is discussing and signing her book, Goodnight Acadiana.

When
Hudson receives the weird message that Mokee Joe is coming, his life
turns into a nightmare. Who is Mokee Joe? And what has Hudson done to
make him so mad? There's only one course of action—Hudson must
destroy this monster before it destroys him!
Peter
trained as a metallurgist
and graduated with a master’s degree from Cambridge
University in 1979. He chose to teach
mathematics
at Aston Comprehensive school. Since 1979, Peter has taught a number
of schools,
including Cheam, before becoming a full time author. He spends a lot
of his time touring round schools, both in the UK and abroad, giving
presentations about his books and inspiring kids to read.
His cover
illustrations are now done by Paul
Davies, the illustrator who created some of
Stephen King's covers, including It'. The internal
illustrations are done by his son, the author and illustrator Simon
Murray. To date the Mokee Joe series has
sold over 500,000 copies worldwide.
Peter
J. Murray has claimed that he got the name "Mokee Joe" from
when he was playing hide
and seek
with his kids and when he was looking for them, he shouted "Mokee
Joe is coming". In years’ time, he was reminded of Mokee Joe,
so he decided to become a full time author.
A
few of Mr. Murray’s books:
Mokee
Joe is Coming
: When Hudson receives the weird message that Mokee Joe is coming,
his life turns into a nightmare. Who is Mokee Joe? And what has
Hudson done to make him so mad? There's only one course of

Doomsday
