The Garden District Book Shop will be popping up at Teatro Wego September 16-18 to help support opening weekend for the Jefferson Performing Arts Society's perfomance of Sweet Potato Queens.

Sweet Potato Queens is a high-powered musical that tells the story of Jill and her closest friends and how they learn to grab life by the sequins, feathers, and tiaras to live their lives on their own terms. Based on the wildly successful New York Times bestselling Sweet Potato Queens books by Mississippi-based writer Browne, this colorful, upbeat show features a writing dream team of pop music and Broadway song icons Melissa Manchester, Rupert Holmes and Sharon Vaughn.

We will be on-site with the book that inspired it all, The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love: A Fallen Southern Belle's Look at Love, Life, Men, Marriage, and Being Prepared by Jill Conner Browne. 

Browne will be on-site for opening night, September 16, to sign copies of her books and chat with attendees. Guests are invited to arrive at 5:30 PM for a pre-show party and meet & greet. Copies of The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love: A Fallen Southern Belle's Look at Love, Life, Men, Marriage, and Being Prepared will be available for purchase.

Browne and booksellers will also be at the September 17, 7:30 PM show and September 18 matinee post-show for additional signings and meet & greets.
