The Garden District Book Shop welcomes author Christian John Wikane to the shop on May 28 for an evening celebrating the local-launch of his book A Night at the Disco.
The evening will begin at 6:00 PM. Wikane will be joined in conversation by DJ Soul Sister. After their discussion, Wikane will answer guest’s questions and personalize copies of his book. The event is free and open to the public but interested parties are encouraged to RSVP and reserve their copies of A Night at the Disco ahead of time on Eventbrite.

Christian John Wikane is a NYC-based writer who has interviewed 500+ recording artists. He is a Contributing Editor at PopMatters, Co-producer of Unscripted: Conversations with Christian John Wikane, and Consultant on Dionne Warwick: Don't Make Me Over (CNN), Love to Love You, Donna Summer (HBO), and the Emmy-nominated Tina Turner documentary, TINA (HBO).
DJ Soul Sister is an internationally-known, veteran DJ artist, whose broadcast programs and live performances feature her personal collection of thousands of vinyl records, which earned her a spot in the book Dust & Grooves: Adventures in Record Collecting. A native of New Orleans, Soul Sister has hosted her Soul Power show on WWOZ FM New Orleans for 30 years (as of 2025), and has hosted internationally-aired radio programs on Sonos Radio and Worldwide FM, among others. She has been a crate digger and vinyl collector ever since she was six years old.
